Rebuilding a Saginaw Power Steering Box

I was intimidated upon first looking at the seal kit I purchased for a ‘64 Oldsmobile Cutlass saginaw power steering box. Geez, with so many o-rings it looked like a nightmare. I went to the computer and logged onto the internet to see if I could find any instructions on how to do it. I came across an article on FourWheeler.com that had a series of 34 excellent pictures for rebuilding a Saginaw Box. The box was almost identical to the one I was working on. I looked through the pictures and thought to myself …..I can do this. I only needed a spanner wrench to unscrew the adjuster plug. I have a part time high school kid that works a few hours a week after school, so I had him make me a spanner wrench out of some scrap metal. Not fancy but it got the job done.

Go HERE for the article on rebuilding the box. Fourwheeler.com did a great job on the article.
