I recently purchased a pair of axial grip pliers made by Grip-On Tools in Spain. I bought a pair of the t-type axial pliers for clamping sheetmetal because I weld a lot of parts that have a 90 degree angle.

I first seen them on a Snap On Tool truck but I didn’t purchase them right away. When I went back to get them, Snap On had discontinued them. I found them at MSC industrial Supply. They are pricey but I do a lot of welding and really thought that they would come in handy. They are well made pliers and should last a lifetime. I really like the easy release lever on the top. I eventually plan to buy more when my budget allows me. Amazon.com has some of the other types of Grip-On axial grip pliers with some good prices.
