You get a new restoration project to start on, in my case a customers’ 1956 Chevy BelAir. You start taking it apart to begin the restoration wondering what kind of hidden treasures you will find inside. Maybe some old coins? old tools? old papers? I have found some old coins and once found some letters dated in the early fifties from an Aunt in California to her young nephew going to college at Fort Hays State. That was pretty neat! Well, we didn’t find anything like that inside the ‘56 but what we did find wasn’t too fun.
If you do find something like this in your car make sure you wear a dust mask, gloves and wet the area down with some water in a squirt bottle so it doesn’t get air born. Sweep it into a trash bag and put it into the garbage.
The first picture was found under the rear seat. And the second picture is in the headliner. The mouse chewed up all of the old tar paper insulation that was glued to the roof!
