I really like old Mercs. This car was parked in a barn in 1961 and wasn’t moved out until just recently. The car was delivered to me partially disassembled as it is pictured. We spent at least four hours washing the car out with a power washer. It smelled like a farm and fertilizer. It had all kinds of nests inside from all kinds of critters using it as a home. The door and the rockers were packed full of dirt and sand. Overall the car is all complete and in pretty good shape. The only thing that looks really rusty is the trunk floor.

I am going to be restoring this 1949 Merc Convertible from the ground up back to it’s original condition. Follow along as I will be doing a lot of articles on this car.
