Low Budget Body Cart

Having a rolling cart to set car bodies on can make repairs a lot easier. This is an easy cart to make. It is made out of 1″ square tubing with an 1/8″ wall. The cart pictured is 8′ x 3′ wide x 2′ tall. The 4″ wheels are phenolic swivel casters.

The wheels are a total of 5″ tall. This allows me to get a floor jack under the cart to set it up on jack stands. Setting it up on jack stands allows me to get it up higher to make it easier to work on. It also lets me get underneath the car for repairs.

When the cart is not being used for a body restoration, I have a 4′ x 8′ sheet of plywood to put on it to make a quick table.
