If you like old cars then you might like this movie. It was made in 1963 which is even a few years before my time. It’s full of car chase scenes, car crashes and the backgound scenes are full of classic cars. Plus there are many well known actors and actresses and a lot of cameo appearences. I remember watching it on regular television when I was a kid. I just recently rented it to watch it again. What a classic movie.

Basically it’s about four cars of people that witness a car fly off of a cliff and crash. The men run down to find the man. Just in time to hear his story about $350,000 buried underneath a “big W” before he “kicks the bucket”. The rest of the movie is about the race to find the “tax free” money and the location it’s buried.

Among the cast are Milton Berle, Jonathan Winters, Mickey Rooney, Phil Silvers, Sid Ceasar, Spencer Tracy, Terry Thomas, Dorothy Provine, Edie Adams, Ethel Merman. Dick Shawn and Buddy Hackett. Among the cameo appearances are Jim Backus, Jack Benny, Buster Keaton, Don Knotts, Jerry Lewis and the Three Stooges.

Some of the cars in the movie are a 1954 VW Beetle, 1957 Ford Fairlane, 1948 Ford Deluxe Convertible, a Dodge Power Wagon, and a 1962 Dodge Polara. I also remember seeing some Ford T-Birds, a Chevy Corvette, a couple of Cadillacs, and some Chevrolet Impalas.

Go HERE to read the Wikipedia article on this movie.
I also found THIS page that lists some of the cars with pictures. Watch it and comment back with your thoughts.
