Auto Restoration 101

Frame webbing is a tough woven cloth that is widely used in between the frames and the bodies to eliminate squeaks and rattles. It is oil soaked so that it doesn’t absorb moisture and rot. It can also be used in between fenders and inner fenders, between fenders and grilles and so forth. It is available in several widths and thicknesses.

Another use for it is for body alignment and shimming. On a lot of older cars you have to shim the body to get the doors to fit properly because some of the door hinges have very little adjustment. So if the door hangs low you might need to shim the cowl up. This stuff works great for it. You can cut it with good scissors and also use a hole punch to put holes in it for body mount areas.
