Something I have always wanted to do is build an elegant car with a modern chassis and engine. Not really a street rod but a car with beautiful French styling of the thirties. Something that will turn heads driving around the midwest. Something that no one else has. The guys at Delahaye USA are building these types of cars. I came across an article on The Garage Blog about Delahaye USA and thought I would share it since I recently posted about Nicola Wood’s Delahaye painting. Delahaye USA is a division of Appleton Productions Inc., which was started by Terry Cook, former editor of Hot Rod magazine. Delahaye USA can create a classic looking coach built car with a modern chassis, a V-12 engine and modern safety. The cars will be hand built using some of the same techniques as the original coachbuilders such as hand forming the aluminum panels. You can read more about it HERE . It’s a great article with some nice pictures of the 1939 Type 165 Cabriolet.
